You won't see many differences when you take the new version in hand. I also try to store information on the score in a more rational and flexible way. For example, we can specify that a diagram should be anchored above the notation. 8 bytes allow to store in a uniform way the anchoring position (above the tablature, under the tablature, above the staff), the vertical and horizontal offset, the formatting, the attributes. This will allow to combine pitch changes, fingering, special effects, font changes on the same note. It works but it's not easy, especially when you have to change the fingering. But you can do the opposite: When you add the staccato to a note with fingerings, TablEdit removes the fingering from the note and creates a separate fingering marker. You understand why you can't put a fingering on a staccato note (the staccato takes the 4th byte). The 4th byte is reserved for additional special effects, fingerings, grace notes, pitch changes, special formatting, etc. Believe it or not, each note is coded on 3 bytes: the pitch, the duration, the dynamic, the voice, the forced alteration, the special effect.
